Their main weaknesses tend to be the initial turn as they, by their nature as melee focused armies, tend to lack the ability to deal with targets at ranged, and can often be whittled down by shooting before getting to their targets. Most Assault armies have high maneuverability, speed, or ways to effectively charge out of deepstrike. At the end of each segment will be a list of applicable armies to the playstyle, though it’s not exhaustive - many armies can play multiple styles.Īssault based armies are those centered around getting into, and dealing most of their damage in, melee combat. This will help you as a player to get used to knowing what you enjoy doing and/or what strategies you are good at implementing within your gameplan. In the next article we will discuss how each faction plays and how to pick the faction that most suits your playstyle, but before we get there we need to discuss these more generalist playstyles.
